Bawumia transformed Mahama’s ‘Manchester United’ economy into ‘Stoke City’ – Adongo
Central MP for Bolgatanga, Dr Isaac Adongo said three years ago that the economic gains made by Ghana under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama had eroded under the watch of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dr Adongo, who compared the performance of the economy under Mahama and Bawumia to the performance of two English Premiership teams, Manchester United and Stoke City, said the VP had transformed Manchester’s economy Mahama United in Stoke City.
He added that because Ghana’s economy had been mismanaged, it was becoming a less attractive investment destination for potential investors.
“Ghana is about to leave the top 10 investment destination… If I was Dr Bawumia, I don’t think I would even have an erection when I get home, but this man sings praises in this disgrace,” he scoffed.

Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has accused Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of upsetting the economy during a conference organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
For him, under the John Mahama administration, the economy he compared to Manchester United, a renowned football club based in the UK at the time, now has a reduced status at Stoke City, another football club who now compete in the Championship, the second tier of English football, by the NPP government led by Akufo-Addo/Bawumia.
“Ghana is about to break out of the top 10 investment destinations… If I was Dr Bawumia, I don’t even think I would have an erection when I get home, but this man sings praises in this disgrace,” he scoffed.
Mr. Adongo made the comment during the NDC’s public lecture on the Ghanaian economy in response to the government’s public meeting.
